As a software test engineer at GridGears, you will need to acquire a good understanding of emergency service standards such as NG112 and NG9-1-1. You will use this knowledge to develop test cases to verify that third-party products are conformant to these standards. This will require good programming skills and an ability to analyze and interpret complex technical specifications. The successful candidate has a passion for quality and a strong commitment to creating reliable, accurate and strictly standard compliant test cases that enable efficient and interoperable emergency services for the public.
The main focus of your role is on actual code development, specifically, writing and maintaining test code in TTCN-3 and Java, which is used by the industry and other companies to verify their standard conformity.
Understanding and staying up to date with public safety industry standards such as NG112 and NG9-1-1.
Developing test cases based on these standards to verify third-party products.
Writing test cases using TTCN-3 / Java and executing test cases to validate product conformity to standards.
Strong knowledge and understanding of software testing methodologies and principles
Strong programming skills (e.g. Java, C/C++ and/or Python)
Ability to quickly gain knowledge of technical standards used in the telecommunication industry, particularly in public safety and emergency services
Ability to design, develop and implement test cases and test plans
Experience with test automation development
Good problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work well in a team and independently
Familiarity with TTCN-3 (Testing and Test Control Notation) is a plus
